Partnerships with Sydney Marathon and Bangsaen21 Half Marathon
First held in 2011, the Takahashi Naoko Cup Gifu Half Marathon was founded on Race Chairperson Naoko Takahashi’s vision of creating a world-class race in Japan. Today, it has grown into a World Athletics Gold Label road race with a strong international presence.
The race has continued to strengthen its global connections through partnerships with the Sydney Marathon since 2023 and the Bangsaen21 Half Marathon in Thailand since 2024. With the vision “From Gifu to the World, From the World to Gifu,” the race aims to be a stage where top athletes from Gifu and Japan can take on the world, while welcoming runners from around the globe to Gifu.
